Yesterday 4pm try to park my car at infront of grage door i have been slow down with touch break pedal. But this car won't stop at all so this car hit home grage door and and side stone decorations.
Driving on Interstate I-287 around 10:35am on October 10, 2025 (New Jersey) around Exit 47 (vicinity) suddenly the sunroof sounded like an explosion. Parked on the roadside ... noticed that the roof is exploded (broken pieces of the glasses were pointing upwards like a volcano) and other broken pieces were captured on the sunscreen liner cloth sliding which was completely closed from inside. Called the insurance and reported as if something hit the roof or not sure what happened. My friends tells me that there have been many such incidents when the sunroof explodes on BMWs, and specifically when the glasses looks like a volcano. Dealer says this is not possible. I decided to claim my insurance (with $1,000 deductible as my cost). Please note that due to the distress and fear of the noise and incident I had no energy to waste arguing and delaying my vehicle warranty claim or repair through the dealer. Claimed the insurance (comprehensive claim) ... Note: Not a single other scratches or anything other than the glass (sunroof) was damaged ... I feel like this is a defective sunroof that exploded (the sound was very loud and scary). If the sunroof liner cloth shade was not closed, the shattered glasses would have seriously injured me (and my husband).
Not sure what malfunction part but car steering locked up. Could not steer the car. Brakes failed. Car accelerator engaged. Car slammed into pole. Car is totaled I only had it less than 3 weeks. BMW 3 series 2024.
Since the purchase of my vehicle, 07/01/2024: When in reverse vehicle does not issue audible warning alerts for other vehicles, objects or pedestrians crossing or approaching behind or from the side. Additionally, no audible warning alerts in the front as the vehicle approaches objects such as trees, vehicles parked in space opposite or persons darting in front of the car.
I was driving on an empty highway at about 55 mph and all of a sudden heard a loud bang, after i pulled over i saw that my sunroof was shattered, bmw declined a warranty on it but the car had only 3k miles on it, prior to that accident i was hearing some squeaking noises from my sunroof when it was in fully closed position. After taking it to the dealership not only they declined on the warranty but they failed to investigate and explain the cause stating it was probably the rock hit the glass the caused the problem, i taped the sunroof after it shattered and after i was picking up the car the tape was still there and was at the same condition prior leaving the car there, so that tells me that they didn't even chacket it.
The rear cross traffic alert system is a major safety issue on my 2024 BMW M340i. It basically does not operate. To get any kind of notification that there is a vehicle approaching from either right or left if you are backing up the approaching vehicle has to be traveling at a speed greater than 7 mph and then you only get an alert within 2 seconds of impact. This is a pointless operation as then it is too late to avoid a collision. The window is to narrow to provide any useful alert and safety function. Also, I receive no alert if a pedestrian should be walking behind the vehicle nor a small child. I had this issue checked at my dealership and was told the system is operating as intended. So I then escalated it to BMW of America customer service. After some back and forth with BMW of America CS as they had initially defaulted to the dealers stated finding (operating as intended) they agreed agreed to send a factory Engineer to the dealership to look at the issue after I said I would report the issue to the NHTSA . The field engineer was at the dealership on 3/11/2024 he checked my car for the issues and determined the Rear Cross Traffic Alert System is operating as designed. This is an unacceptable response and an unacceptable operation of a safety system. BMW uses this feature as a selling point to make customers believe that this a a fully functional safety system and it enhances general safe driving. There are many complaints on multiple BMW forum sites that state the same issue with many models and years of BMW's.
The car has the fast wireless charging tray. I've attached a picture. The case for my phone has a small metal piece on the case. Its a regular case from Amazon. The wireless charger works fine, but it's also heating the metal phone cases to the point where it starts a small fire. Its a huge fire risk if you're not careful. We tried another case and we had the same problem.

Understanding the BMW 3 SERIES SEDAN recall history
The BMW 3 SERIES SEDAN currently has 0 recall campaigns and 9 owner complaints indexed from the NHTSA public database. Each recall represents a formal campaign to fix a defect at no cost to the current owner. Owner complaints are self-reported incidents that haven't (yet) resulted in a recall but can indicate emerging patterns worth watching.
NHTSA's complaint database for the 3 SERIES SEDAN records 4 crash reports, 1 fire report. Complaint data is unverified and shouldn't be read as a blanket condemnation of the model (large production volumes naturally produce more reports), but it is useful for spotting whether a specific defect has a serious real-world pattern behind it.
How to use this page
The safest path for an owner is to run your VIN through the checker above. A VIN query hits NHTSA's live API and tells you whether your specific 3 SERIES SEDAN has an open, unresolved recall. If you're researching a used 3 SERIES SEDANbefore buying, use the recall list below to understand the model's full history, then check the seller's VIN to see whether prior owners actually completed the free repairs. Many don't, and unresolved recalls can linger for years.
Figures are generated live from the RecallScanner dataset, which is sourced from NHTSA's public recall and complaint APIs and refreshed daily. RecallScanner is independent and not affiliated with BMW or any U.S. government agency.
